Smashburger

Smashburgers! The best way to make a tasty hamburger is to smash them!

Ingredients

  • 600gr minced beef (80% meat – 20% fat ratio)
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 3tbs mayonnaise
  • 1tbs mustard
  • 1tbs apple cider vinegar
  • 3 pickles
  • 1 onion
  • 1 tomato
  • 2tbs brown sugar
  • 4 slices of cheddar cheese
  • salt
  • black pepper
  • fresh lettuce

Preparation

Heat your Tiger Fire open plancha BBQ with a hot and cooler zone. Make sure the hot zone is at least 250 degrees.

Prepare round balls of the minced meat of 75gr each.

Wash the lettuce, slice the onions in fine half rings and slice the tomato in thin slices.

For the homemade BBQ sauce mix the mayonnaise, mustard and vinegar. Add the pickles sliced in very little pieces (brunoise) and season with salt and pepper. Best to make this up front and leave it in the fridge for a few hours before using so the flavors can really blend.

Let's cook

On the cooler side of the BBQ, let the onions cook gently until soft and add the sugar in the end to make them soft and sweet.

Place the meatballs on the hot side of the plancha and smash them flat with the two spatulas. Season with salt and pepper and let them grill for 2 minutes.

Flip the patties, season with salt and pepper and place a piece of cheddar cheese on top of them to let it melt. Grill that side for two minutes and take them off the BBQ.

In the meantime, slice the hamburger buns and grill the inside for 30 seconds on the hot plate to make them crunchy.

Now it is time to make the hamburger: first place some lettuce on the bottom of the bun and add some of the hamburger sauce. Then place two hamburgers with a slice of tomato on top. Add the sweet onions, some extra hamburger sauce and place the top of the bun to finish it off.

Suggestion

Place a nice knife in the burger to hold them in place and serve these delicious burgers with some french fries.
