2 cast iron skillets
If using fresh cherries, stone them. Mix the cherries in a bowl with the sugar. Set aside.
In another bowl, mix the flour, oatmeal, brown sugar, cinnamon and sea salt. Add the cold butter and rub through the mixture with your fingertips until it resembles coarse breadcrumbs. Place in the fridge until use.
Place the cast-iron skillet on the plancha plate and let it heat up for a few minutes.
Add the cherry mixture to the heated skillet and spread evenly. Cook for 5-10 minutes until the cherries start to bubble and the sauce thickens.
Crumble Add: Remove the crumble topping from the fridge and spread evenly over the cherry filling in the skillet.
Take a 2nd skillet that you use as a lid and fill with smouldering pieces of wood. Bake the crumble for 20-25 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and crispy.
Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for an extra treat.
